Accessibility Statement

What we are aiming for

Most of the people who use this site are over 65, and many read at 150% or 200% zoom. We built for that from the start rather than adding it afterwards. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and we aim for the stricter AAA contrast standard on body text wherever the brand colours allow it.

What that means in practice

• Body text starts at 20 pixels. Nothing on this site, including the small print, is below 18 pixels.
• Every page stays usable at 200% zoom without sideways scrolling.
• Buttons and links are at least 48 pixels tall; phone buttons are larger still.
• Everything works by keyboard, and the focus outline is always visible.
• If you have asked your device to reduce motion, this site does not animate at all.
• Forms have visible labels above every field — never a label that disappears as you type.
• The forms work with JavaScript turned off.
• Colour is never the only way we signal something.

What we deliberately did not do

We do not use an accessibility overlay widget — the kind that adds a floating accessibility button to a page. Those tools are widely criticised by people who actually rely on screen readers, they slow pages down, and they have featured in accessibility complaints rather than preventing them. We would rather build the page properly.

Where we know we fall short

Being honest is more useful than claiming perfection:

• Our agent photographs are decorative and carry empty alternative text. The information about each agent is in the text beside the photograph.
• The background video is decorative and silent. It never loads on smaller screens, on slow or metered connections, or when reduced motion is requested.
• We have not yet completed testing with every combination of screen reader and browser. If you hit something that does not work, we want to know.
